I love stories of bands fucking up shit once signed. Do you remember Holland? They are a local band from around here, they even played with us a few times. Anyhoo, typical story, got signed, released an album the critics raved about, toured the world, got a huge amount for the second album, and it all went up the vocalists nose in the form of white powder. He proceeded to finally get the second one done, but had done soooo much blow, that his voice was cashed. When we finally got around to playing with him, mucho blow later, and booze later, his voice made ME sound like friggin' Steve Perry! Still looked good though, so he atleast was still getting laid. Oh yeah, Sexton was a HUGE critic stroke off, then he released an album void of flashy guitar work, and that was it.

Didn't Sexton play on some Bowie record as well? Arc Angels, the Sexton one, had one cool tune, but the rest of the CD from my recollection was average.

With Twisted Sister, Stay Hungry sold 5 mill in the states alone. Worldwide was probably close to 10 I would guess. Maybe TS got shafted badly by managers etc or something. Or he got a raw deal in his TS days. I saw an article a few years back on a guy whom I'd never heard of. He played on one Beach Boys album and was getting about 65K a year from royalties up until the late eighties. He played or co-wrote some stuff on an album in the late 60's early seventies.

If you want to see a good music movie, check out 24 hour party people. It's about the rise and fall of Factory Records. They guy from Happy Mondays was a complete waste case. They got 250K to go to Bermuda I think. They recorded the album without any vocals. Then the singer held the master tapes captive until they gave him some more money which he blew up his nose. It's a really interesting movie and well done.
